Chapter Fifteen

Erin arrived at the address relieved to find that it was outside of Silver Spring proper, and rather than being a high-rise apartment building with cameras, it was a cheap garden apartment with a dark parking lot and few lights. She found the unit on the second floor. She knocked quietly. After a short wait, Daniel opened the door, looking more like the Daniel she had met a few nights before minus the makeup and nail polish. He wore black jeans and a black T-shirt and looked delicious. Daniel realized he had been staring at her and finally said, “Come in, I’m sorry.”

“Thanks.” Inside she glanced around the small one-bedroom apartment, decorated in dark Gothic vampire-wannabe decor. Black candles were lit and burnt halfway down all over the place, but it gave it a half romantic feel. Not really, but she could almost imagine.

“Look, I don’t usually do this sort of thing.”

“Don’t worry about it. Whatever, no strings,” Daniel finished before she could go on. “Do you want a drink or something?”

“No, I’m fine.”

“Look, why don’t we get comfortable on the sofa, no sense standing around.” Daniel flashed a smile baring his fangs, which he had tried so hard to keep hidden at the gym. She smiled at him. He tried to imitate what he couldn’t have.

Erin moved deftly across the room, almost as if she hadn’t moved. More like she had shifted time and been by the sofa the whole while.

The sofa was dark faux leather that had seen better days. She wondered how many women he had brought home with that gorgeous smile. She knew she surely wasn’t the first to ever grace this sofa.

She needed to take control. As they sat down she put her hand on his neck and pulled him towards her and kissed him deeply. His open mouth on hers was warm. She felt him relax into her arms. Erin didn’t waste time. She reached down, grabbed the bottom of his T-shirt, pulled it up over the top of his head and ran her hands down over his bare chest. Then pushed him back and kissed him, at first on his chest and then down his stomach.

There would not be any conversation tonight.

The room receded around them. All that was left was Daniel and his body pressed against hers as they rushed together in this repeated dance towards death.

Daniel reached down to pull her up to kiss her again. But romance wasn’t her interest tonight. It surprised her that he would stop her. They kissed again. She reached down and pulled her own shirt over her head. Her long dark hair cascaded down her back when it was let loose from the neck of the shirt.

She instantly felt his strong hands on her breasts, and her desire grew even stronger. They both slid out of their jeans, her purple panties never even noticed, a waste for tonight. As she straddled his body, he arched his head back. His breathing was hard. She could see his pulse in his neck.
